Cesar
1st Dan (Black)

CesarCesar started his career in Karate, when he was 18 years old. He studied at his university in Medellin, Colombia, starting off with Sempai Edwin Correa (1st Kyu), and then afterwards with Sensei Raquel Orozco (2nd Dan). Soon he was able to represent his university, winning a bronze medal in his first competition. During his stay at the university he won various gold, silver and bronze medals in local, Regional and National Championships.

Unfortunately while competing he suffered 6 shoulder dislocations and 6 knee sprains, but even with all these injuries, he still didn’t think of giving up the sport. Not only did he learn the aspects of competition, he also learnt, at his club in Colombia the more traditional ways of Karate-Do, like Embu. Karate has taught Cesar a great deal, not only for his sport's life, but also in many aspects of his life, helping him become the person he is today.

When he was 4 years old, Cesar lived in London for a period of seven years. Then travelled back to Colombia to study at Secondary School and later obtain his degree in Physics. At the age of 24 years he returned to London hoping to continue his studies and sit a Masters degree. As soon as he got settled he started searching for a karate club and after looking for some time, he found what he was looking for with Sensei John De Bono at NLSK. He has recently taken part in his first competition representing the club, obtaining a respectable 5th place in Kata, but he is hoping to improve!

Cesar achieved his black belt (Shodan) 1st Dan in June 2009.
