| NLSK competed in The International Karate Open Championship 2009 at Dagenham this weekend... |
|
There were over 400 competitors taking part from England and Germany. This was the first competition this year that NLSK concentrated only on kata and no kumite, due to work commitments and injuries. First up was Serkan Seferoglu in the Junior brown belt category, with a strong entry he finished a creditable fifth place. This was followed up by Ferhat Seferoglu and Cuneyt Belber, in the under 15’s black belt category, both performed well and finished fifth and sixth. In the Senior male kata category, Cesar Zapata did a very impressive Sochin to take bronze. He then competed straight away in the Open Kata category and with very strong opponents again took his second bronze. It was now the turn of the kata teams, first up were the Junior kata teams, the team consisted of Serkan & Ferhat Seferoglu and Cuneyt Belber, who took silver with a great performance of Jiin in the final. This was repeated in the Open team kata, where the same team took gold. It was a very fruitful day with one gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Well Done to all those who took part. |
