7th World Junior-Cadet Championships 2011 in Melaka, Malaysia

A squad of 29 young athletes travelled to the tropical island of Malaysia.
It was a thirteen hour flight and a two hour coach ride to get to hotel.
The Head of Delegation was John De Bono, the staff consisted of 3 coaches, 3 chaperones and one doctor.
The competition took place over four days, but the whole team where out there for a duration of 10,
to acclimatise to the humid conditions and 8 hour time difference.
The England team made history by achieving two gold medals and one bronze.
England finished 6th out of 81 participating countries with a 1215 total entries.

At the recent London karate Open 2010, NLSK took part with a small squad. The squad came away with team gold, 3 individual gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals, not a bad day’s work.

BIKO 2010 Open, London Karate

NLSK competed at the BIKO 2010 Open with only three students taking part, but it still turned out as a double medal for Lewis Meola as he took Silver and Bronze in the Open and Heavy Weight divisions.

NLSK took a squad of twenty for the Dagenham International Open 2010, with members from Enfield and Chelsea. It turned out to be a good day’s work with 3 gold, 5 silver and 8 bronzes medals. Well done to all those who took part.
