Karate Kid - Jayden Smith with his father Will Smith and martial arts expert Jackie Chan at the London Premier

Karate Kid Premier
Sensei John and Jane were invited to attend the London Premier of Karate Kid in Leicester Square. It was a very big occasion and the crowds turned out in force. The whole square was buzzing with anticipation, waiting with excitement to see the stars: Jayden Smith, Will Smith and Jackie Chan.

The young actor Jayden Smith was the first to arrive on the red carpet, accompanied by his parents none other than Will Smith and mum Jada Pinkett Smith. Will is such a popular guy and took time to laugh and joke with the crowd, whilst signing hundreds of autographs for the fans. But not wanting to be upstaged Jackie Chan wowed the audience with his own unique blend of humour. It’s the first time ever he’s attended a London Premier and seemed overwhelmed by the amount of people that had showed up to see him. Considering all the films that he’s made over the years, he seemed so down to earth, not at all aware of his Hollywood movie star status.

A special highlight of the evening was a demonstration performed by four of EKF’s karate elite, Jon Mottram, Tony Smith, Emma Lucraft and Kate Karwacinski. They performed a medley of high octane moves on a dangerously high suspended platform, which only added to the fantastic spectacle.

It was certainly an evening we will all remember for a long time, Oh yes and just one more thing, do go and see the film you won’t be disappointed.
